Post Care: Anti-Wrinkle

The perfect treatment for smoother younger-looking skin.

What to expect post-treatment:
Common mild side effects of Anti-Wrinkle injections include:

  • Tenderness

  • Bruising

  • Swelling

  • Needle puncture marks

  • Mild headache

After Care.

  • Post Care.

Typically the treatment will begin taking effect on the 4th day post injection, and take full effect by the 14 day mark.

The areas treated may feel tight, particularly in the forehead. For a few hours, even up to a few days later, some people occasionally experience headaches after treatment. If you have experienced a headache from treatments in the past, there is little indication that you are at any further risk of experiencing one again.

  • Avoid the following:

Do not lay down for 4 hours.

Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.

Do not massage the area of injection for at least 24 hours after treatment.

Do not apply makeup for 6-8 hours post-treatment.

Avoid putting any pressure on the treated area for 24-48 hours after.

Avoid facials, face waxing, IPL and Glycolic or AHA peels for two weeks post-treatment.

  • Results:

Results can last up to 4 months and should be retreated every 3-4 months for maintenance. We will discuss your goals and develop your treatment pan for the first 6 to 12 months based on your unique anatomy, desires and budget.

  • Jaw Slimming Results:

We will assess the bulk of your muscle and dose your treatment according to your needs, desires and minimisation of side effect risks. We will review your results after two weeks to ensure that the treatment dosage has been high enough to deliver the desired effect. Increased dosing may be required to achieve the desired results if your muscle bulk requires high dosages, which we can add 2 weeks post your initial treatment.

Treatment can last up to 4-6 months however the results will last the longest after your initial few treatments, as your muscle bulk will be reduced. Consecutive treatments may increase the longevity of results.

Post Care: Dermal Filler

Everyone wants a voluminous, hydrated-looking face.

What to expect post-treatment:
It is not uncommon to experience these symptoms and they should resolve over the next few days, up to 6 weeks. Pictured is one of our patients 2 days post injection; the typical swelling and bruising is present.

  • Swelling

  • Bruising

  • Red needle puncture marks

  • Itching in the area

  • Asymmetry

  • Tenderness

  • Lumpiness

* The appearance of lumps and bumps is common post-dermal filler treatment. This is a short-term side effect whilst the product is in the integration process of moulding to your anatomy. Treatment areas such as jawline, cheeks and smile lines are more prone due to the viscosity of the product to best mimic the anatomy. This will soften and improve within 6 weeks of treatment.

Post Care

  • Immediately after treatment, the tissues treated will swell. You may apply cold compress to areas treated for 10 minutes every hour as required. Do not use ice directly on the skin.

  • Elevate the head while sleeping to decrease swelling for a minimum of 3 nights. Sleep on your back and avoid sleeping on your face.

  • For pain relief, paracetamol is recommended.

  • Over the next couple of days, massage treated areas in the shower and apply Bepanthen or a gentle moisturiser post showering with clean hands. This will help to integrate Dermal Filler.

Avoid the following

  • Do not touch treated areas for 6-8 hours post-treatment.

  • After 6-8 hours you can gently wash your face.

  • Ensure your face is kept clean to minimise the risk of infection.

  • We recommend avoiding flying 1 to 4 days post-treatment.

  • Avoid alcohol 24-48 hours following treatment.

Results

Reviewing results of Dermal Filler should be performed at 4-5 weeks post-treatment (except for cosmetic emergencies including infection or vascular occlusions, which should be reviewed immediately). Reviewing before 4 weeks is not useful as there is often a small amount of swelling still present. Results cannot be judged until swelling has subsided, this is particularly important regarding symmetry.
